WASABY was a 3-year pilot programme funded through the EU Health Programme, which began in 2018 and ended in 2021. Read more about pilot projects and preparatory actions in the annual EU budgetary procedure here.
This pilot action focuses on the geographical analysis of population-based cancer incidence data in connection with environmental factors, using breast cancer and water/soil contamination as an example. More information is available on the project’s website: http://www.wasabysite.it/
Please note, the WASABY App is currently under review and is not available for download.
ECL, with technical partner Salumedia and in the framework of the WASABY project, developed the mobile application WASABY.
🌐WASABY is an educational app to help young people learn the messages within the European Code Against Cancer and how to lead a healthy life whilst reducing their cancer risk. The app is made up of 10 content modules and quizzes. Reward badges are unlocked at the end of each module and real-time data on progress is registered to create an international ranking list of the top learners around Europe.
🎗️The WASABY app was officially launched on 4 February 2021 to mark World Cancer Day. The app was available on Google Play Store and Apple Store!
✅ Check out the short Instagram live session @cancercode that took place on World Cancer Day 2021 to present the app and its features to interested people and users.
Important notice: please note this App is aimed at young healthy adolescents aged approximately 14 to 19 years to provide information on health promotion. In no case does it provide medical advice for cancer patients or any other sick populations.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Third Health programme 2014-20 under grant agreement PP-2-5-2016 (#769767)
